Marsha Ratcliffe (1942

This memorial website was created In the memory of our beloved Mum,
Marsha Ann Ratcliffe who was born on 21st March 1941 in Darlington United Kingdom, She was Loving Daughter to Nellie & George Hunt,
she was the twin to Terry & the Sister to Kenneth.
She was a loving wife to Malcolm & Loving Mother to
Kevin & Dawn & her 8 Grandchildren, one of which is Angel Kimberley.
She moved to Portsmouth during the war where she lived in Wymering,
then after the war they moved to Ledbury Road, Paulsgrove.
while growing up she went to King Richard school,
she worked with her Father George until his un-timely death in 1972.
She Married Malcolm on 28th May 1976, when she moved to Marham,
Norfolk & then to Lyneham, then she Moved back to Paulsgrove in 1985,
where she lived until she passed away on February 03 2004 at the age of 61.

Lord,
Give me the strength for this day.
To weep when I should weep,
to accept the comfort that memories bring,
to face the future with courage,
to meet people-
those who love me,
those who want to help me,
those who want to comfort me,
but don't know what to say.
Oh God,
Help me to know your peace,
so that I may be able to bring peace to others.

A Gift From God

An Angel was sent from heaven about,
A special one that would bring much love,
God knew that this precious life would be short
So he looked around for a tender heart.

He made his choice and the gift was sent
In what seemed like a moment, the angel went,
Leaving treasured memories, and a heart full of pain,
A void, an abyss, tears flowed like rain.
But......
Wait just a moment, I wish I could see
The wonderful thing that's happened to me.
Jesus was waiting, His arms opened wide,
And He and His angels brought me inside
Such a beautiful place that I cannot describe,
A new home for me from the moment I died.

I'll wait here for you, so dry up your tears,
And go bravely on with your life free from fears,
Know that God's near you to help and to guide,
He'll never desert you, He's there by your side.
So speak to him daily from inside your heart.
And let him assure you, we're not really apart.

Roses In Heaven

Beautiful red, pink, yellow and white roses,
They all say "I Love You"
The thorns on the bush remind us
That mistakes need forgiveness too.
Red roses tell of God's beauty,
That often thrills my soul.
The yellow, whispers of His Love,
Chasing away sadness, and making us whole.
The pink is for the blush in my cheeks,
When laughter chases the blues away.
The white tells of His forgiveness,
We'll share together each day.

If Roses grow in heaven,
Lord, please pick a bunch for me.
Place them in my loved one's arms
and tell them, they're from me.
Tell them that I love and miss
them, and when they turn to smile,
place a kiss upon their cheek
and hold them for a while.
Because remembering them is easy,
I do it every day.
But there's an ache within my heart,
that will never go away.

A Rose For Just You Mum

We little knew that morning,
God was going to call your name,
In life we loved you dearly,
in death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
Mum, you did not go alone,
For part of us went with you,
the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories,
your love is still our guide,
And though we cannot see you,
you are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.

Serenity
God grant me the Serenity
to accept the things
I cannot change;
Courage to change the
  things I can;
      and the Wisdom
     to know the difference

Please don't mourn for me I'm still here,
though you don't see I'm right by your
side each night and day
And within your heart I long to stay
My body is gone but I'm always near
I'm everything you feel, see or hear
My spirit is free, but I'll never depart
As long as you keep me alive in your heart
I'll never wander out of your sight
I'm the brightest star on a summer night
I'll never be beyond your reach
I'm the warm moist sand when you're at the beach
I'm the colorful leaves when fall comes around
And the pure white snow that blankets the ground
I'm the beautiful flowers of which you're so fond
The clear cool water in a quiet pond
I'm the first bright blossom you'll see in spring
The first warm raindrop that April will bring
I'm the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine
And you'll see that the face in the moon is mine
When you start thinking there's no one to love you
You can talk to me through the Lord above you
I'll whisper my answer through the leaves on the trees
And you'll feel my presence in the soft summer breeze
I'm the hot salty tears that flow when you weep

God Only Takes The Best

God saw that you were getting tired,
And a recovery was not to be.
So he put His arms around you
And whispered, "Come home with me."
With tearful eyes, we watched you suffer
And saw you fade away.
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating:
A determined spirit is at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best
